What next?

I've added my two clowns and my Lawnmower Blenny. Everyone is doing great. Any ideas on what I can add next and how long should I wait? It's a 26 gal. tank.

I'd wait just a bit to add something else and let your biological filtration catch up, however, you probably wouldn't see any ill effects if you added something else.

What type of fish are you interested it? I like to look on LiveAquaria for ideas myself :)

make sure you dont add any fish that require a lot of swimming space, or agressive fish

I'd looked past damsels, as they tend to become aggressive as they grow up, most anyway. You could get some Chromis which are very peaceful and active. I'd stick with two if you went that route.

I'm all about colorful fish. I plan on adding a couple of cleaner shrimp, possibly this weekend. I also like fish that will be somewhat active soo we can enjoy watching them.

Since you want color, how about a royal gramma? They add lots of color to a tank, as do green chromis. Only one gramma though, so if you want numbers or schooling fish go with the chromis.

Royal Grammas are aggressive as well, but not to say you shouldn't get one. If you get Chromis, only get two, as they will kill each off until there is two anyway.

If you tank is covered, you could do a typical firefish, or even the helfrichi, which is gorgeous.

I never knew that the chromis would kill each other off? I've had 8 in in my tank for about 2 years with no losses

Its pretty common from what I've read and experienced. I put 5 of them in my tank, and they killed each other off until only two were left. Those two lived for years in my tank.

I believe that this is a new tank, so he'll need to stay away from mandarin's until his is much more mature and can establish a pod population. Otherwise, you'll simply starve it to death. If you can find one eating prepared foods however, you should be ok, but I'd wait on a mandarin.

Does he need a refugium to culture pod, because if he is gonna start off putting them in the main tank, he will be spending a lot on pods. And as far as chromis goes they are very peaceful but first they adjust their numbers according to tanks size, meaning they kill each other only up to the point where they can live with other chromis peacefully, so number of chromis depends on ur tank size. I would definitley start off with two chromis about 1/2".

You don't have to culture pods, but if the end goal is to keep a mandarin, then I've seen many people go that route. As the tank matures, pod population will increase on its own.

I would add a Dottyback of some sort, although I have had a Neon once that was a big bully. and some Firefish.

a pair of cardinals - pajama or bangai, nice peaceful and tend to not need swimming room. its also nice to observe pair interactions
