Hey Reefers, new to the site been hanging out on RC for awhile, was looking at some research that had been updated on salt mixes, and everyone has their pros and cons. According to the research data the top 3 mixes are Kent Marine, Tropic Marin, and Instant Ocean. No, I do not endorse anyone changing what works for them. Just wanted to throw this in there. Can't remember the site will have to look it up again, when I find it I will post a link. I was considering changing to a different mix, but after reading the data decided to stick with IO.

For my last 2 years of "reef" keeping, I have been using Tropic Marin Pro Reef. I just bought Instant Ocean and have some mixing for a water change. It seems cloudy for some reason. I hope this is not indicative of how it allways is.

i was using tropic marin when i first started and had no problems i loved it i switched to red sea pro because that is what the local LFS was carrying and i HATE IT!!!!! always leaves brown residue on the barrwl, have had 2 bad algae break outs. a few others from another reef club has had similar problems. Tropic marin for me from now on.

I had been using I/O for years and ordered a couple of buckets of Reef Crystals more or less on a whim. I have been very impressed with the new growth I've seen. I'm going to stick with Reef Crystals!

U still can get the 160 gallon bucket for $31.99 for Reef Crystals till tomorrow, also if u order more than $100 dollars they give u $10 dollars off so shipping is almost free if u order a few, I posted all the codes in my local forum on RC.

I use DD H2Ocean Pro Salt, I switched from Red Sea Coral Pro. These are 2 of the best salts I have tried and well worth the money IMO.
