LFS labeled him as a spotted yellow eye but I don’t think it is, not with that tail

I’ve had atlantic blue tangs before and they’re yellow when small, this one is not yellow or blue

He’s a bristletooth tang, fabulous substrate cleaner.
Looks just plain to me. I have the same fish.

The yellow eye Kole tang is one in this group so LFS, IMM, is partially correct.

But I see no yellow eye at all.

Still great fish.

atlantic blue’s tail is a bit different

Following for the answer… my guess would have been adult Atlantic blue

May be atlantic Blue but difficult to tell with heavy blue light
Please post pics under white lighting

My guess is indian gold ring bristletooth

I'll try a better pic

This is a Ctenochaetus striatus, Striated Bristletooth Tang.
The body shape is completely wrong for an Acanthurus coeruleus, the body shape is much more elongated whereas coeruleus has a much rounder body shape.

Ctenochaetus striatus is a larger species of Ctenochaetus and can get to the max size of 8 inches (Potentially bigger).

Bingo! That’s it
