This soft yellow growth recently appeared on the skeleton of my lobo. Is it a sponge? Should I try to remove it?

It doesn't seem to be bothering it that I can tell.

Sponge. Usually not to much trouble but can grow over zoanthids. Your lobo should be fine but if it appears irritated by the sponge you can easily scrape it off.

I have the same type growing over my chips I have been squirting air into it with syringe every couple of days. It seems to keep it at bay for now.

I wish it was growing on a rock somewhere as it's very colorful. I'll leave it be unless it encroaches on the meaty part of the lobo.
