This torch is at least 16 heads, it has outgrown my tank. I have a local store that is willing to give me store credit. I just have no idea what I should ask for per head. Please see attached photo. Thank you! IMG_4319.JPG

How much does your store sell frags like that for?
That's a great question! I don't know what my torch's name is, but they have a few different ones that look almost spot on. A Malaysian King Jester, $250.00 per head, an Orange Peel Indo, $200.00 per head, & an 24K Indo, $250.00 per head.

Where are are wholesalers at what’s the cost at import?

If I was the LFS I’d try to give you $500 in livestock credit. If I was the seller I’d hope for $800 in store credit for dry goods or livestock.
These prices may seem low per head, but at my old LFS we would take months to turn this over. Also it would need fragging which costs. On top of all that there’s the risk of loss.
Not saying I’m right here, just my opinion. In my market an LFS would be very unlikely to give a good price if want to take it in at all.
If you take them in 2-3 nice fragged and mounted 1-3 head pieces at a time you will get more.
Also not sure if you’ve tried to sell corals or ship corals as an individual but it’s a lot of work. You are likely limited in your options to unload this piece and they are going to be aware of that too.

I wish I could give you a price for it, but good luck selling it! It looks amazing!

@Coral Kai interested in this ? Or can you give a value for a colony like this?
Trading it is very difficult...cause you will get pennies on the dollar for it

i also dont have alot of experience with anything that size if its really 16 heads
- most people cant ship anything that size so it will have to be local
- this limits the value significantly because its local
- fragging a coral that size is extremely difficult

I’d offer it up as a whole locally for 800 and if nothing in a month frag it up and sell them for 75 or so a head. You’ll make a good amount and get some local reefers into the nice coral without breaking the bank. We will bring prices down by aquaculture effort from reefers and sharing the wealth.

I have a friend that is set up for fragging & offered to frag it in exchange for 1 or 2 heads. I actually have two of these colonies, the first is at least 16 heads, the other is 14. Maybe sell on Facebook Market place?

Yea try local reefer groups on Facebook first. Even there, it wi be luck that someone wants one that big.

I vote bigger tank and keep it :)

I mean i do that for my friends here... i help frag their large colonies
sometimes i will sell it for them since my brand is bigger and im a sponsor here

what i will tell u is that it is no one is going to come and say "i want 14 singles" of the same coral so you really have to price it aggressively if you want to move it

finding someone locally would be my route too ...as a colony
if i was looking to get rid of it

find someone to trade maybe

trying to sell my wife on that very idea! Bigger tank!

in my experience...selling 1 coral...is much much better than selling 16 corals
dealing with 16 individuals is a pain in the butt and you will still not get as much as you think you should for a lot more work. selling coral can be fun but it can also be a real pain.

The way this coral is growing, it looks like it would need to be fragged into some two head and some four head frags. That may be easier to sell. It definitely can't be fragged into 16 individual heads.
