I bought a juvenile pair of engineer gobies last month, approximately 1 inch long, and since then they have always swam in the water column. Today I got home from work and can't find one of them, and I'm wondering if he might have started tunneling, or if I should suspect the worst.

Any experience here?

They are very upright citizens. First they have to apply for a building permit and before they dig the site should have been marked plainly and they would have called 811 to get the final approval.

Otherwise, they will get to it when they feel the need for a home hole.
