Easily one of the most recognizable and popular circulation pumps in the aquarium industry is the VorTech! Whether you're running a 2.5 pico tank or a monster reef of over 1,000 gallons, these great pumps by EcoTech Marine will keep the flow you need with powerful water movement and amazing controlability (and if you've got the new QuietDrive versions, they're 90% quieter and have up to 40% more output)!

Now...the only question left to ask is where do you mount it? How do you determine where to mount your VorTechs in your DT? Do you mount them on the sides or on the back? Up high, mid range, or lower? Tell us about yours.

I run 2 MP10-WQDs on the back of my 70G Artisan II. I have a XF130 on the side. Gives me good random flow.

I got 2 Mp40's on the sides, one is little higher than the other one and 2 Mp10's on the back glass the same way. The Mp 40 that is lower is followed by the higher Mp10 and the same in the other end

I have four MP40 pumps on my 120gal.
Two on each end.
The front pair are about 8" down and in front of the reef. The back pair are about 8" up and behind the reef.
The front pair run at a faster maximum speed while the back pair is slower.
The left pair are the masters and the right pair are anti-synced slaves.

I use my Apex to control the pumps with various programs throughout the day and I get a nice wave when the pumps enter the pulse (gyre) mode. And there's plenty of random flow that is created in the center of the tank.

I have a cube which makes flow a never ending problem. I mounted two on opposite sides as high up as possible without drawing air from the surface.

I run 2 MP10s on my 40 gal cube - opposite each other about six inches from the surface. Slightly offset.

Just a quick note. MP 10's can not be mounted on back glass of Red Sea Reefers. Glass too thick, magnet won't hold and pump won't work.

Disagree on this, works fine. Maybe you have all the spacers on?
