I'm seeing some massive pieces of rock in many of these beautiful displays. I'm trying to find a source for a 30"x20"x20" (roughly) piece of rock for my next build....

Where do i got to get?

I’d recommend emarco cement. I am cementing live rock tomorrow with it and expect it to work great. I combined Little Rock’s to make a big rock sculpture ( dry rock) and the rock broke before the connection between a small rock and a big rock... ( picking it up)

highly recommend! Will most likely be able to make any large rock structure you want!

Hi, thank you for the replies. I was hoping to not have to build one :). Although if i have to, then i have to.

I bought this on amazon and broke some rocks up (they come kinda boxy and large )

Nature's Ocean 12-Inch Coral Base Rocks for Aquarium, 40-Pound

then used e -Marco cement to combine them.

Awesome, thank you for the link... Any pics of what you made?
I’ll be completely honest... I don’t know how I feel about it as it’s still not in my tank lol.

I also have a fully established tank (65 gallons w 20gallon sump)

don’t have any fish went fallow and never added fish yet.

Here’s my current rock setup ( will prob change tomorrow when I do the cementing.. ) also here what I made.

still got about 20 lb dry rock along with all the scraps and then have all the rock in my tank. Made that structure out of just dry rock like I listed.

Like I said don’t judge!! Still working on it!

Yup that's what I have in my tank and it came in a few big chunks. A side note though, the holes were full of sand and I spent a good bit of time with my pressure washer getting it cleaned out. If you don't have a pressure washer I could see it taking a long time.

I do not have a pressure washer and was worried about this as well.
What I did was first rinse the rocks (just tap water on the rocks.. ) then I soaked in some Rodi overnight that had a strong power head on the rocks

In the morning it was a milky colored water and I took the rocks out.
I then broke then ( first with a drill bit the the drill died and of course I lost the charger lol.. so then I just started to use a few screwdrivers and a hammer to sort of carve a hole in the rock ( I was going for caves)

after I got about 98.9% through the rock with my man made cave I broke the rock ( got impatient and started going harder) don’t do that lol...

Anyways then after the rocks broke ( it was kinda slimy and crumbly I then rinsed the rocks again overnight and then took them out a few hours prior to aquascaping.

I was also hesitant if the rocks would work (read a lot of reviews about dust and power washing but it’s 20* where I am and I cannot power wash at the time lol so I did what I could do and I feel very happy with the results!!
Do I think a power washed rock would be better than mine? Yes.. am I regretting not power washing?? Nope...

Yes the intention is to use that new rock work as my left side of the tank and then use live rock as the right side.. we’ll see how it goes ( keep pushing. It off!!)

I also have a thread on here as well where I seemed to figure out a decent alternative to the epoxy that comes within the e-Marco ( long story short 2 shipments popped the epoxy and I had to get a third order.. ( cement is heavy and the epoxy is a pouch of liquid... do the math lol.)

brs was great and sent me a third bucket full and wrapped it well so all is good.

I then found out that I can use epoxy at my local hardware store and bought some as I now have 15+ lbs of cement and no mor epoxy lol
