where to put green encrusting monti

Does any one have experiance with green encrusting Monty's. Mine seems to be turning brown and was wondering if I should move it up or down. My tank is a 6 gallon cube with a par 38 about 18 inches off the water.

It might also be the water having too many nutrients in it.

I trace with nano part a and b solution and add fuel once a week besides that I feed the. Fish flake food every other day what should I be testing for as I have never had a monti in my tank
