Hi reefers ,
I bought myself a new blenny since my lawnmower past away .
I ordered a

Blenniella chrysospilos

But once aclimated and in color it does not look like that what so ever .
Its mostly black with slightly white circular spots on its body and 1 black dot upper top fin .
Its highly aggresive i can tell already .

Somoene have an idea ?

I'm gonna say it's just a bicolor blenny. Stripe pattern on the face and body matches up + the dot on the dorsal fin. Bicolor blenny with no "bicolor" is not unheard of.

stark contrast to what you paid for:

I can't see it too well in your pictures/video but one thing you can look for is where the "antennas" are coming out of. Bicolor will have them coming out from in front of the eyes, red spot will have it on top

I think youre opinion seems to be more true than mine .
I will do my best to get a more detailed view of it when light come's on .

I can tell that its the worst fish i have ever had , it has broken down a peacefull tank into a terror , attacking all fish .
My anthiases arent even visible anymore and i do believe they died already due to this little terror's agression .
Catching i almost impossible .
And it isnt even eating any algea , the reason i keep blenny to start with .

Update :
The agressive fella has fought its way to my sump where he will enjoy himself to his last day .

Was this kind of behaviour normal in this species of blenny ? I have kept 2 lawnmowers before until i bought this one but have never expierinced this kind of agression , biting foxface 10x its size , battling even my yellow watchman goby ....
I would like to add the correct blenny coming weeks after my fish settle's down again but do not want to take any risk anymore with this kind of agression ....
Are there some blenny species good for algea that are known not to be little terror's ?

Yes to aggression... Mines not THAT bad but he'll chase stuff sometimes. Obviously some are worse than others. Tailspot is going to be your best friend for a peaceful algae eating blenny. Mine is super fat with how much he eats.

Sounds like an episode of My Blenny from Hell! I have a tailspot and he is my favorite. He is the only fish in my tank that has a name. Benny. Tailspots stay small though, so be aware of that.
