I've seen 2 different designs of bubble traps. Which of the 2 do you think is better in terms of eliminating microbubbles?

I was thinking that maybe #1 would be more effective, since water runs through a certain length without contact with the air and then goes directly to the return pump, while in #2 there could be a small cascade trapping some air, which then may enter the pump. This is just my appreciation, however, and I wanted to know what you think.

Under-over-under is best. Bubbles have to travel down twice before the return section and this configuration is far easier to keep clean of detritus, as well.
