Hello Taricha,

im not aware of a possibility to get a "full spectrum" dataset from our processing software. We just measure intensity at dedicated emission wavelenghts.

Also bear in mind that spectral data (if you get hold of it) changes significantly with measurement parameters (axial/radial view, nebulizer flow, RF power). For example atomic lines would be more pronounced with low RF and high nebulizer flow, while the opposite is true for ionic lines (especially the UV ones). So i doubt the data would be enlightening.

Best regards,
Christoph

Sounds complicated!!...Must take a great deal of effort to do effective methods development with that many variables...

Yes, its many variables indeed. The goal is to find conditions that work more or less "universal".

We measure every sample with 2 condition-sets:

radial plasma view, 3 replicates (each 5 seconds) for macroelements
axial plasma view, 3 replicates (each 25 seconds) for most trace elements

Nebulizer flow and RF are optimized for the "most difficult" elements.

Best regards,
Christoph

Have you ever conducted a Measurement System Analysis Gage R&R? In my former life we used this methodology to establish performance standards capabilities studies. It was a requirement for some of our customers that required certified analysis...It was very helpful in establishing confidence intervals for products that that had diverse spectral properties ( UV-Vis-Near IR Spectra) I have attached a document that outlines the procedure.
