I have an IM25 lagoon that I would like to run 4 t5 and 1 reefbrite xho strips on. Should I use the 24" strip or would the 15" be enough? All I want out of this led is some actinic supplement and some shimmer. If someone has a different led suggestion please let me know. I am personally done with using led as my main light source so we are just discussing led as a supplement/shimmer light. Appreciate the responses or suggestions

If you decide to do it, then I would cover as much area as you can.

Before you buy it, can I offer a different approach that might help you out? Use a True Actinic T5 bulb along with a 6.5 or 10K to balance it out - the True Actinic will really pop some colors after a while (it takes time for the pigments to develop). I would put these two in the middle with some Blue Plus on either side. Later, if you don't like it, then buy the reefbrite.

I really only want to keep leds for the shimmer, I have plenty of combos for t5 that will work great for sps coloring, so in reality I guess I could go with the all white reefbrite. I would love to run mh with t5 but the heat issue is no good for me.

Have you tried a 70W HQI? Bulb choices are not all that great and you will probably have to retro something, but they really put out the light and shimmer a bunch. With the open top, the heat should not be a problem. Most people do not even know that they are an option.

My apologies if this is not helpful at all.

It is helpful, I have thought about it but like you said bulb selection is limited. I might just give that a shot
