Hi folks!
My File Fish has developed a white "growth" above his mouth. At first, I thought it was a piece of sand or pebble, but he has had it for several days now.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Cauliflower appearance can be either lymphocystis or Bacterial. This looks like the aftermath of an open wound which has led to a secondary bacteria issue. I would start with a 90 minute bath in a bucket using Ruby Rally Pro followed by antibiotic in a QT tank using Maracyn 2 or Triple Sulfa or similar for at least 7 days.. Do note antibiotics can affect each fish differently. Increase oxygen during treatment of any fish.

Thanks. In the event that I cannot catch him, is it OK to treat the entire DT?

I would not as antibiotics can destroy the bacteria in the tank. The only thing I would trust in the DT would be Ruby Rally Pro treating for 10 days
