Hi everybody,

After my neon green toadstools' last shed, it developed a white patch around the edge. Other posts have suggested this might because of inadequate flow or somebody nipping at it. I repositioned the coral to a higher flow area. Although it seemed to get bigger and happier, the white spot remained the same. I haven't seen anybody nipping at it during the day or at night. My phosphates were running low (like 0.0) for a few days, but are back up to about 0.05 ppm. Otherwise, water parameters are all within normal ranges on last check (alk 9.5, pH 8.0, nitrate 2 ppm). Has anybody seen this before? Any ideas?

Thanks very much!
Josh

It’s pretty common. Typically some type of ‘injury’. The toadstool should be fine.
