White spots neon goby

Hi

Can anyone ID the disease on my neon goby that's appeared all of a sudden?

Is it white spot?

None of my other fish are showing any symptoms

Yes, that does look like ich, Cryptocaryon. Neon gobies can also get mucus plugs, but when I see spots on the fins, that’s typically ich.

What is the history of this fish?
What other fish are in with it?
If this tank has invertebrates in it, do you have a treatment tank available?

I have 2 clownfish, a hector goby and a firefish. The neon goby has been with me for several months now and has had no issues

I have both corals, cleaner shrimp, conch and snails in my tank and no QT tank available. What would you recommend?

There really isn’t a good option in your scenario. Hopefully my diagnosis is wrong and it IS mucus plugs.

You can possibly wait to see if spots develop on any other fish, confirming ich, before taking that step.

Your three best options would be to attempt ich management, move the invertebrates out to a new tank and treat the fish with hypo (low) salinity, or moving the fish to a treatment tank and treating them with coppersafe.

Remember though, setting a new tank up on the fly requires that you also establish a biological filter to keep the ammonia level down.
