Who doses potassium?

As a warning with the red sea colors (10mL a day) - iodine -
I was dosing the Iodine & iron ( and brightwell K) and got another ICP test done.
All the elements listed in the iron supplements stayed the same, the iodine stayed the same (0.03) but the bromine Went from 21ppm to 169 ppm! (It's part of the iodine supplement)
No adverse effects that I've seen, but I doubt I'll use it any longer.

I keep it at 400-410. I dose .5 ml a day in my 25 nano and 2.5 a day in the 120. I use DSR trace which includes.
Mix of Magnesium, Potassium, Sulphate, Boron, Iodine and Manganese.
I dose at the bottom recommended amount of .5 ml per 25 gal. Been using this in the nano for over a year. I test with salifert once a month.
I follow the DSR method but this is the only product of thiers I use.

I have been dosing the dsr trace for 6 weeks now in my new 2 month old tomorrow 120. Corrilone algae is spotting everywhere and corals are growing. Of course all other parameters must be stable too.
Moved a few more frags and corals into the 120 tonight.

I started dosing potassium when I saw @mrsaltwatertank and Justin Credabel recommend elevated levels for better color. I shoot for between 450 and 550 ppm, and I feel like the colors (especially pinks and purples) are improved. I use Brightwell's Potassion supplement.

High levels of potassium can be poisonous for fish. I do not think anyone knows which are the most sensitive but i have read about dead fishes and potassium. Maybe the level was 700 something? The corals were fine.
I have seen better colors (espescially red) when raising from 340 to 400.
Salifert potassium test is very easy to use but You have to be very careful with the volumes You use in the test. Takes a aminute for me.

Potassium never depleted in my tank, but I’d recommend potassium chloride (say, food or reagent grade from Amazon) if you determine that you need it.

Just checked and that is certainly cheaper than I am paying! As the one I found is powder, can you inform me the mixing ratio to make a liquid form for dosing?

I dose it with no testing. I usually add a half cap full of the potassium and iodide from the red sea colors kit every two days or so.

I wonder what negative effects could occur from an overdose from either of those? Same for trace element dosing using something like the TMP stuff?

There’s not much evidence in the negative effects of overdosing iodine, and it comes in a variety of different chemical forms that will have different toxicity and different bioavailability.

My SPS started having weird issues of bleaching. Turned out to be potassium down at 280. Definitely test it and dose it (if you seldom do water changes.) I bumped it up and everything was perfect again.

How do you add it but not dose it??? Those words generally mean the same thing in a reef tank. Do you just mean you do not use a dosing pump.

Don't use a dosing pump for it. I add recommended m/l on bottle via Pipette

I did my first Triton test and they said I was low potassium, everything else was in order. I use the 4 part Triton method via dosser. I started to dos brightwell Chetogro based on element list of product. I figured my cheto was pulling out all my potassium. I been dosing 15 ml once a week in my 120 gallon.
