Who's got the dirtiest sump?

I haven’t cleaned my sump for over a year. I will likely try to do a deep sump clean out as part of Spring cleaning. I am
Not looking forward to it!

This is my 150's at 22 months of no clean. Skimmer was swapped but the sump was not touched.
Currently mine is the dirtiest, lol.

Mine looked like this until a few days ago, I finally decided to use a turkey baster to suck all the nastiness out on my last water change.

I used to have a really dirty sump with my old tank. I never cleaned it in probably 7 years plus I added a deep sand bed with garden soil in it because I thought that would be good for seagrasses. The seagrasses weren't impressed, however. 😞

Is there a prize? I don't want you all judging me after a lazy 5 years...

@JTP424 has seen it but I think that's it

This was a blind area in my sump. I was replumbing and discovered this. (Featuring 20"+ bristle worm 🪱

I should have taken photos when i broke my last tank down after 6 years running and never being cleaned. All the nasty sludge I scraped out got dumped into the new sump and covered with rock. I've never cleaned a sump. There's too much life living in all that filth and I don't want to kill it all. I see it all as part of the little eco system going on. I figure they put doors on the stands for a reason 🙃

Only two years on this one so not too bad yet. The cool stuff is down under the rocks which serve as a cryptic zone.
