It hurts. First it was my exquisite fire fish from a parasite. Got that problem solved. A couple days ago I bought an absolutely gorgeous Dracula goby. Well today I had to catch my pistol shrimp and I guess somewhere along the process he jumped out. Didn’t notice for a couple hrs and he was already dried up. Tried resuscitating him but he’s gone. This is the only part of the hobby I hate. I don’t mind nuisance algae and bacteria and having to be patient but the deaths hurt. It’s not even the money I just get attached to them. Not buying anymore fish until I get a lid, yes I know always have a lid for gobies, it’s my fault. :(
Anybody have recommendations for a lid (standard 29gal)

Sorry for your loss. :(

There are many choices out there for lids.
Red Sea and BRS have DIY option which is cost effective but not pretty.
I got acrylic lid from Clearview lids. It is pretty and a good lid. However, it is expensive. I thought after I spent $$$$ on higher end tank equipments, why I cheap out on a lid. It will ruin the look of my tank. Check out my build thread if you want to see it.

Again, sorry for the loss...

Home Depot .
light defuser .. ( egg
they come in 24”x48” sheets .
Measure and cut to size .
they allow most of the light through , doesn’t effect gas exchange or evaporation .
