Hello everyone I posted a thread regarding this angel before as he has flukes but he was in QT and healed for 4-5 weeks and I made him fat before transfer into QT tank. I am assuming he doesn’t have flukes as I did two rounds and his fins healed up etc and he isn’t breathing hard or rubbing and was eating a lot before

Now he was eating up until either today or a couple ago last I can confirm he had was 2 days ago. He has stopped eating and hangs at the bank of the aquarium and in a little cave and only stays at the back of the tank but he does come out and just swim around slowly. I did notice my salinity jumped from 1.026 to 1.028 when I did the water change last night which is my fault and I will be correcting that asap, but all other fish seem fine corals included and inverts and ate today. Could that be the cause or something else

You can safely drop salinity quickly to 1.025 and fish seems lethargic. Hard to tell in video which is a little dark with the blues on . . . . is it breathing normal or labored?

Normal as far as I can tell I put out the lights on white quickly. I am unsure why he randomly become lethargic as I did put him through a long QT process closer to 5 weeks when I love back and he was eating like a pig and was in the display tank until recently

Fish is indeed lethargic . At times may take a third treatment. How were you dosing prazi? You want to dose at 85% of recommended dosage and utilize air stone during treatment.
You resume quarantine and use in lieu of full prazi, api General Cure which has a little prazi and formalin in it as a multi- dose treatment

Are you in the USA? General cure may be more effective as this product is more of a dewormer

I’m in Canada unfortunately I did get my hands on some prazi pro, I also got copper on me, and metroplex. so I could use that and hole its flukes again or combine the two. It did do the job of healing the fish but I guess the flukes came out or some survived barley as you said 3 rounds. Unsure if it’s something else

This may also be a weaker version of Prazi but adhere to package directions precisely. You may be ble to get these meds in your country from Canadian Fish vet in Ontario

I just responded to your other thread:

A specific gravity of 1.028 isn't the cause of this itself.

The fish looks pretty thin in the video, and it is swimming stiffly. Are you certain that it was eating well in the past few days?

How many fluke treatments did you give the tank?

I wonder if the fish was gradually getting thin, it is easy to miss that. A fish that gets thin, while still feeding well, typically has an internal parasite. Those can be difficult to treat because there are four common types of internal parasites;

praziquantel in the water works on tapeworms
metronidazole in the water works of flagellates
fenbendazole kills nematodes
but then there are coccidia, which has no effective treatment.

what did you use to treat - if you mentioned it already - I apologize.

He didn’t make it through the night unfortunately pretty bumped he crashed so quickly he was doing SO well before hand

Sorry to hear. Any possible treatment would have taken at least a few days to work, so there really wasn't anything you could have done to prevent this.....
