I notice a “ fiancé left - big tank” thread so thought I’d share the life’s uncertainties you can be delt

Anyway, 8 foot x 2 x 2 but what to keep when you already have a mixed reef and needs no more tinkering but the occasional little wc??

Predator? Love lionfish , had a dwarf moons ago
Just sps?
Just anemones with a harem of clowns?

Already have a scape idea , from the bottom of the back wall rocks form plateaus up and over so the fish swim underneath the scape

Ideas please gents/ gentessess

Actually we need your ideas. Are you saying you have a mixed reef already and would like to go predator, or Stoney coral only or something requiring minimal maintenance?
What equipment does this tank have in terms of lighting, pumps, filters, etc? The dimensions suggest a 300 gallon tank

My ideas are just the ones listed
Yes I have a 130g mixed reef
Not sure what volume 8x2x2 with sump will hold
Equipment will suit the tank

Are you planning on keeping both tanks? Just asking because predator tanks can be awesome but coral do not tend to fare well for various reasons.

I am all for the multiple tank syndrome.

Sorry for your loss but congratulations on your big tank gain.

Will keep the mixed reef until the others mature and switch everything across so predator tank is out

8' x 2' x 2' is standard 240 gallon ,not including sump.

Divorce sucks. Sorry you're dealing with it, man. But at least you don't have to go through anyone else with your hobby. With me, tho, that would be catastrophic. My wife acts as my 'governor'. I make questionable decisions, she overrides and makes better ones.

If you want a new/big tank the best advice I can give is get one that is as big as you can possibly fit in your house. I suggest putting it on Concrete. If the unspeakable happens and it leaks, concrete will be easier to clean up and less likely to suffer water damage. Plan for huge filtration, Dilution is my solution :)

Measured up last night , 1800x 80x 70 with 1500x 65x 45 sump
Think that’s 200g or so

Even the dogs thinking this space needs filling
