Will my glass lid obstruct the light?

Did some one ask for metal halide fixture over glass lids? 2 x 250 and 1-175

I did this years ago :)
2x250
4x53 t5
716w full power 10 hours a day
Glass lid

No heat issues, house set for 70, tank set for 78. No chiller

People think they have to deal with bleaching issues now…they have no idea lol. Everything had to start in the sandbed, 8-10 layers of window screen mesh, 1 layer removed every 5-7 days. And I still bleached stuff occasionally

Here was my old office tank with BML Leds and a polycarbonate lid on my 65. With todays leds example X15 or 30 with G6 lenses the fixtures have to rest on top of the glass or an inch above or you lose all your lighting. On my 40 I lay the Orpheks on top of the glass tops. The fixtures stay nice and dry, cleaning the glass tops is not that big of a deal

My lid builder (who I recommend) is in post 5. The panel is a polycarbonate which will not bow over time like acrylic does. I would say it’s approx 1/8” maybe a little more
