Good! Perhaps later you can explain how to use those apex modules. Every time I start reading about that i get confused about it and the use for my setup. Following...

We have a friend visiting in October who is the CTO of a company that sets up "controllers" for houses (lights, heating, power generation and storage, etc.). So, I'm definitely going to have him help me set it up if I can't figure it out myself. Another first ;)

The aquarium can't get here quick enough!

Then ur gonna need the leak detector module as well

Haha, yeah, that should be an easy sell to the wife :) It's been years since I have had a leak (since I built my own overflows), but that definitely is a consideration. I don't want to have to pull up carpet in the fish room. I probably should have tiled before I put the first tank in there... Dang it.

If you all think of any blind spots that I haven't covered let me know. I want to make sure I get this set up right! And I'm always open to suggestions.

I just started a thread about this, but you haven't seen your tank until you have seen it through these glasses:

https://www.amazon.com/Uvex-Blockin...4049654&sr=8-1&keywords=orange+tinted+glasses

$8.68 a pair. Totally worth it imho. Plus, they are totally legal (heh)....

Shout out @helen ann for shooting me the link!

Beautiful sump hopefully tanks home soon. Definitely a awesome build started.

The freight company called this morning and it should be in on Monday! I was also able to arrange pick up at the terminal. I was worried about an 18-wheeler getting in and out of my neighborhood. I'm really excited to see it. This may be a first for me, looking forward to a Monday?!?!

I would consider doing a muriatic acid wash on the rocks to help remove any bound phosphate on the rocks. You could also do a bleach bath. There are numerous threads regarding both. I did an acid wash, followed by a weeks worth of FW soaks (with Prime and vinegar which helps to remove any residual acid) with changing the water daily and then started curing and cycling the rock in saltwater using pure ammonia.

I was lazy last week and waited until the weekend to start the pre-treatment. I'm kind of glad I did since it is a fairly involved process.

Soaked the rock in RO for a couple of days:

Nasty stuff and I was lucky my wife had some yellow gloves!
