Found an article today in Marine Fish and Reef USA 2014 about your worms. They may have thier uses but they still creep me out:p

You have to be careful doing this because I have a feeling I know what one of the videos you're talking about is, and that is not a bristle worm. It's a bobbit worm. Those are the ones to be scared of not the bristles.
