I've got a purple'ish chalice frag thats got me worried. Yesterday after doing some work on the tank, I went to add some RO to top off the tank.

After I was done I noticed some "strings" swirling around my chalice frag, I looked closer and they were coming out of the chalice frag, kinda like when a mushroom spills it's guts, these were just thinner more string like.

Since I've seen my mushroom due similar things I didn't think anything of it.....untill a little while later it looked like there was a ton of slime coming off the chalice and there were streaks of flesh that had turned dark brown.

I got the turkey baster and removed all the slime, and this morning most of the color has returned to the brown spots.
Any idea what happened to my chalice, this has never happened before, and has me a little worried.

Was it in transit for a long time? Might have gotten really stressed from that, or perhaps the RO water hit it directly...no coral is a fan of that IME.

No not in transit. I've had for a few months in my tank now. It was at the bottom of the tank the day before I added the RO water, and it's at the top of the tank now. Maybe moving it stressed it, though this particular frag has been buried by my pistol shrimp more times than I want to count when it was on the bottom of the tank, but all it did when that happened was puff up and get swollen for a few hours, after I unburried it, then back to normal. I figured moving it would save it from getting buried. I'm pretty sure the RO didn't directly touch it, I add my top off water to the side of the tank, the chalice is in the upper middle. Maybe I'll try moving a little lower.
