Hi all,

Appreciate there have been lots of posts on biorbs but think my question is slightly different.

People often buy biorbs (freshwater) as a starter aquarium and give up, hence eBay / gumtree etc is flooded with them cheap. Has anyone thought to use them for a Pico reef in the same way we keep jars? No livestock, 100% water change, just an air stone and better lights? Seems the shapes would be good, and the acrylic can be drilled so you could get a good seal around cables to minimise evaporation

i've definitely seen some pretty cool biorb reefs and have definitely been keeping that idea in my mind if i come across one cheap enough. i really like the ones people can do with the clear and white biorb life aquariums. it definitely gives a really cool effect regardless to have an ecosystem bubble.
