Leave it open for future more light hungry SPS.

Next corals I'd be looking for in your case would be encrusters. Maybe a nice Electric Daisy Styloconiella, Bizarro Cyphastrea, Meteor Shower Cyphastrea... Or a nice Darth Maul Porites!

For my Duncans (and prior tank's Candy Canes) I glue them to vertical walls of rock so they grow outwards.

From the video looks like it may be getting a bit too much direct flow so it's scrunched up a bit. As others have stated, you may want to move it lower or perhaps turn the powerhead down a bit.

Let me know what #reefsquad suggests for placement on my scape pic I posted before this. Thinking birds nest top left, Duncan where the hammer is and the monti top left so it shades the mushroom. No idea where to put the candy cane.

I’d love to learn!

This is what I'd do or move the Candy Cane to the left of the Monti and put the Monti where the Candy Cane label is.
Here’s my initial setup. I moved the hammer down even lower right. I’ll remove the frag plates once I get the nod from the #ree#reefsquadTTACH type="full" width="700px"]4199122

Thanks! Guess my first reply didn’t come through. Here’s where I placed everything. I had to move the hammer down more to the right. I’ll remove them from frag plugs once I get some feedback from the #reefs#reefsquadTACH type="full" width="700px"]4199162

Only 5 days in but the hammer doesn’t seem thrilled with the new spot haha!

I had to move the bottom rocks around because there was horrible flow around them and mysis and other food was getting stuck and starting to rot.

The Monti I picked up locally isn’t a red cap but I think it looks cool! I have some more acans and a jack o lantern leptosaris coming Thursday.

I don't think that's a Monti... That looks like a Hollywood Stunner Chalice maybe?

I don’t know what a chalice feels like but this guy was super thin and super brittle. I broke off several pieces trying to glue him down.

After reading up on WWC it sure is and looks like I placed it in an okay spot. Guess I’ll just have to get an Apple Jacks or something when I add some more haha.

Any thoughts on placing the leptoseris? Down below the candy canes?

Oh... Jack-O.

Either above or below the Candy Cane should be fine. They're usually not super light hungry but they can handle more than some other Leptos.

Higher may make it a lighter orange color, lower a deeper orange color. I've got a Klepto Lepto - shade makes it more reddish orange, lowish light makes it more yellow.

Thanks! I’ll probably put in down below. Since I have orange zoas now on the bottom left.

I’ll definitely look into the Darth maul and others you mentioned to fill in other spots, those looked dope!!

Unfortunately I put my Darth Maul Porites in the back and they're really hard to get a picture of. Mine are a very deep, dark pink with black polyps and white eyes.

I’m already thinking of spots in the back. dang 15gal helloreef and no space! Your 70gal build looks amazeballs, I’m already convincing the wife for a 90gal. Wish I kept my used 120 with 40gal sump from 5 years ago I never setup.

I downsized from a 135 with a 30 gallon sump. I moved most of my stuff over to the 70 and it pretty well filled up in a few months.

Smaller tanks fill up faster but they also look more full faster. There are some beautiful nanos and picos out there.

I've got the HelloReef 15 GloFish at work as my office tank. They're such cool little tanks.

I finally rented a PAR meter! I moved the hammer to the upper left cause where I had it was only getting like 60. Now it’s at 92-105, should like that a lot more.

Birdsnest should be getting good light. I’m worried about the Duncan under 85 PAR and if I should move it too right at 140, but as it grows it’ll definitely get more than that.

And I’m thinking of putting the Jack O Lantern just below the birds nest. Easier to rip off the top rock if it goes gang busters and encrusts everything.
