I still have the redsea. I also have a 3 year old 140 gallon. I will try to post photos again later. Not good at the picture thing. There is a bristle tooth tang and a butterfly fish also in it. Light load mainly. And several small fish.

Both look good. I'm assuming you still have your mandarins?

Yes I am. They are not in the same tank of course. I make sure they are eating well before they ever went in the large tank. A pair in each and a small female in another. They all frozen. What are you thinking of starting up?

I really want to do a Mandarin tank. I have a couple tanks laying around. The biggest being 50g. I might setup a 75g though. I'm more into fish than coral so I would really like to just put pulsing Xenia in whatever I setup and let it take over.

A fifty is big enough for a pair of mandarins. I like fish more than corals also. A coral has never come to meet me at feeding time. Plating coral is nice. Firefish are another good choice. And a nice dendro. No special lights needed. Royal gramma, beautiful. And snails. Can I help? Muahahaha

If you know someone with a tank see if you can get a sponge to seed it. Fastest way to cycle a tank.

That stinks. But maybe some ghost feeding? I would send you one but I think it would spoil in this heat.

I just looked at the sponge in my HOB on a 20 gallon with the mandarin in. I changed it 2 weeks ago. Since you are not starting up for a couple of weeks it should be cooler and the sponge should have time to be better seeded. I could send it to you.

I may take you up on that offer. I'll let you know when I'm almost setup.

So the top Angel is my yellow belly regal. She made me have to get rid of the plate coral under her. Always nibbling at it. That was last year. The next photo is my larger grey belly one. They are both larger and fatter now.

Yes it does! How often do you see the gumdrop? I hear you pretty much only see them when you put them in the tank.
