Yellow tang advice please

Hello my 150g tank is today at day 36 And these are my parameters.

where i live cost the yellow tang about 500dollar, now i can get one for less then 200dollar.

i only have snails and some crabs in the tank and next week i will place my first 2clownfish with shrimp.

now my question is if the yellow tang will surive the low nitrite and do u think that i can put it in the tank tonight? becouse its a good deal i would like to buy it tonight, but i definitly dont want the fish to die or to get to much stressed.

i would really appreciete all the help!

If snails and crabs are fine fish are definitely fine just add slowly

I am not sure where they get the tangs from, but keep an eye out for disease if going directly into the tank. Otherwise, make sure it has plenty to eat. I would do nori sheets (like buy at store for sushi). Put them in different areas around the tank. Tie to rock with rubber bands or into pvc or smash between rocks, hang with magnet.
This will give the fish something to pick on all day as they do in the wild.
With a yellow, just keep them eating.

The tank parameters look fine.

Because I want this to succeed for you, make sure you are aware of how to properly acclimate your fish. Is is being shipped? If it traveling in a bag more than a few hours?

Tueseday i will pick up the fish with the car, its about 50mins driving. Ill make sure the heating inside the car is on.

There is indeed nog that much algae inside the tank so tomorrow i will buy the nori sheets and i will place them al over the tank when she is in

Im planning om aclimate them with a waterdrop system for 1 hour. This should be good right?

You're going to put a tang in a DT with no QT o_O

Your tank is not fully cycled and thus I would hesitate to use a yellow tang to cycle it. But If you must, hold off adding any additional fish for at least 7-10 days after adding tang and only after all parameters are zero except nitrates which can have some traces. Then go ahead and add the clowns and wait a bit again before adding anything else. Patience is the golden rule to ensure proper cycling and long term success. Good luck.

The tank is cycled at 36 days and there’s already life living in the tank. I wouldn’t add a huge bioload but it is certainly cycled at this point.

My definition of cycled is when a tank has built up enough bacteria to hold its capacity. This tank has yet to achieve that. As such, I would be careful about adding too much too fast. Better to go slow and be patient. Just my 2 cents of course…..

Got one for $300 Canadian she is doing well. You could always put it in a Quarantine tank if you have time, and are uncertain

If you happen to have a spare 20g or so around, set up a qt for the yellow. Keep lots of pvc or fake stuff in it and same thing with hiding lots of algae. Just may be best to make sure Nitrite lowers a bit and to keep an eye on the fish in case of any infection. This is basing the fish is under 2".

For that short a trip, you should be fine to drip acclimate.

If this is at a local fish store I am sure they could hold it for a week or so until you are ready with a proper QT tank. It may even be in copper at the LFS. I would start the routine of using a QT tank now. Will save you aggravation down the road.

I added a powder blue and purple tang without QT you're not from America so thats a bonus in America QT is mandatory fish are like street ******* riddled with diseases
