Hello everybody. I posted on another non-emergency thread today about my yellow tang playing dead, not eating and hiding since yesterday. At the time, there was nothing visibly wrong with him. Since this morning, he is swimming normally again, although he did not eat this morning BUT a while ago, when the lights came on, I noticed something like a bruise/smudge like a square drawn in black pencil between his eyes. What could this be and what could I do? Medicines I have in my cabinet are API melafix, seachem metroplex, polyplab and Brightwells fish recover, as well as focus and guarlicguard. Thank you

Its either bacterial or post injury especially based on location.
It should show improvement in next 48 hours. To help.... assure water quality is optimum and it’s getting proper diet
What is proper diet?

mysis shrimp
Small plankton
LRS herbivore diet
Formula 2 flake and frozen
Spirulina brine shrimp
Nori seaweed basted with garlic extract

add garlic 2-3x per week and selcon vitamins to the foods 1-2x per week

Thank you! I did a large water change today just in case, so water is very good, all parameters in check. So...no medicine? Just good quality food and patience?

You can add melafix if you have it

I do have melafix. I will have to add it to the whole tank though. It is guarranteed reef/coral safe? How much should I add?
Add to path of water flow and dose at 75% of recommended

Thank you for your help! He seems fine today, eating like a wolf and swimming around. I would never have imagined that a fish can be so stupid as to bang its head on a rock!!!
