Hey guys, I have a yellow tang that is about 4" and I am trying to find him another home. I am curious to know how much these are selling for because I know they are still hard to get. What kind of prices have you been seeing people pay? Thank you!

Some can pay up to 600…
I’ve seen most CB tangs going for 150-200 so a Wild Caught would generally be around 2-350.

I think most people already mentioned the rough price. Biota are on the smaller side of things and have a set price for small and a bit larger. They sell quickly so buyers have to monitor.

Yours is larger in size and healthy (I'm assuming that it is). Full color. You can demand (I mean this in a friendly way) a higher price because of it. Just how much that premium is will depend on the buyer.

I've seen juviniles going for 400 at the LFS and ones your size going for 600 if they can be found at all.

I live about 100 miles from you. I have not seen one for sale around the Louisville area for a long time. The LFS has a couple of them but they are not for sale. I have heard that they are about to open it back up soon so the price will be coming down. I would absultly love to have one but i can not pay $400 for one. If i i would have had some forthought, i would have gotten 4-5 before the price jump. I tried to get one off of a local guy but he would not sell it... a week later his tank crashed and he lost it and everything else in the tank.

I only have 8 yellows in my 500, but I’ve seen that Andrew has way more in his 17000g tank!
