Do you recommend me take him out of the tank?Bacterial infection - probably brought on by an injury.
@fishmedic
If you have a separate treatment tank available, I would.Do you recommend me take him out of the tank?
I don't, if I leave him in the tank there's any risk for my other fish?If you have a separate treatment tank available, I would.
These are usually isolated to just the fish, but it’s a lot harder to treat in the display tank.I don't, if I leave him in the tank there's any risk for my other fish?
I don't have a qt tank.Looks like an injury which has developed a bacterial infection. Treat in a separate tank with Seachem Neoplex or Kanaplex
anyone can easily setup up a QT quickly. Wal mart is usually open 24 hrs and will carry a 10g tank. there's plenty of hob filters there too , along with a heater and air pump/air stone. thats all that is needed
Starter kit at walmart has the essentials needed and only takes up 22" of roomI don't have a qt tank.
I’ve seen this sort of lesion pretty often in this species….it can end being fatal. I would consider treating it with a broad spectrum, gram negative antibiotic in a treatment tank. Neoplex is one med, or you could dose Maracyn 1 and Maracyn 2 together.I don't, if I leave him in the tank there's any risk for my other fish?
