I never see my yellow watchman goby. I treated my tank for ick and he was the only one who made it. He’s always been hard to find. I never even see him eat although he looks healthy in my opinion. Is this normal?

Mine is usually in his cave and not usually out and about. I he looks healthy, he is probably eating ok, though. I have a high fin goby that I can go a month without seeing. Then he pops out, fat and happy.

Yeah, that's definitely a common thing with the YWG. Honestly, I think getting a pistol shrimp to pair with him might get him out more. My pistol shrimp is constantly burrowing and the goby follows him around protecting him, so I feel he's out more than he would be otherwise.

Mines usually out all day, usually sunbathing on my scoly. How long has it been in your tank? I say give it time, after all, all of his mates just died from horrible disease, I can’t blame him for hiding.
If happy and comfortable and confident it will come out.
