Saw two massive asterinas today! Anyone ever seen any this size? There are normal sized ones in both pictures for comparison.

Now that’s a true Asterina!
The other guys you see are from the genus Aquilonastra.

Home again for a few days. Looks I've lost my fire-shrimp and the macros in my sump haven't recovered. I decided to toss them and replace with the chaeto from my other tank. The 44 gallon seems to be absolutely full so I have plenty. As for the shrimp I've had it for a year and it was quite large so maybe just age.

Otherwise the tanks both look great. The corals look really good despite the algae die off.

I'm having a sponge explosion.

You know who’ll love feasting on them?
Obviously the regal! Try harvesting a couple and throwing them in for her to feed on :)

Went to stock up on food before my next trip and almost managed to resist buying anything alive. I did get these two RFA's. My little one has disappeared and I'm thinking big ones do better. Trust me they will look better once happy in the tank and under good lighting.
IMG_6259.jpeg

As usual they had so many great fish and corals I would love but can't get right now. They had a couple magnificent leopard blennys:

And a large and very healthy A meleagrides.

However what I was most tempted by was a healthy, eating 30$ ornate leopard wrasse and a beautiful 20$ diana hogfish that would be for the other tank.

I’m bored so I’m going to compose my wish list:

Equipment:
  • Macro camera filter (I think I'll make a thread for suggestions when I get home)
  • AI Coral Glow (though I have to figure out how to put it above my tank)
Fish:
  • I think this tank is about fully stocked but maybe another tamarin, leopard, or fairy
    • Other tank:
  • Dragon wrasse
  • Harlequin tusk
  • Passer angelfish?? (think I need to do some more research, too big maybe)
  • Also I was offered a zebra moray.... (will it fit?)
Coral and inverts:
  • Various encrusting hammers to finish garden
  • Red or pink goniopora
  • A nice torch
  • Maybe try SPS again? Would love a plate or a birds nest.
  • Clam?
    • Other tank:
  • Large blue clove polyps

Passers get rather large but in terms of Holacanthus grab either;
Clairon (Unpopular opinion: it’s ugly)
Rock Beauty (The large Bicolour IMO)
African (These guys have an understated beauty)

Or, go for the same pairing as me! You can never go wrong with a Girdled/Majestic :)
Plus, who doesn’t want a brute like this?

You could hang the light

Dragon wrasse might be too boisterous for all your other wrasse down the line
Passer Angelfish, best to Pass on that one (get it ;)) I think it would get too big too quickly and be very mean. They aren’t called King Angelfish for no reason.
Zebra’s don’t get too large and I think are the safest Moray to keep with all your fish as they don’t eat aquarium fish, at least that’s what I think lol. As long as there is a lot of good crannies and one big cave for it?

Coral and Inverts:

EVERYTHING ;) except clove polyps:dizzy-face:
