Let's say you tried a reef safe "with caution" fish like a dwarf angel or something similar only to catch it nipping at your LPS and/or SPS. What would you do? Would you rehome the fish, move it to a new tank, adjust your coral keeping to accommodate keeping the fish in your tank, or some other solution? If this has already happened to you share your experiences.

Same experience with a bicolor blenny!! Started with green corals, then it was all the colorsDrain the tank. It takes about an hour of time so rather quickly.
I have tried traps. The never work for me.
Good time to do my bi-annual water change as well. I used a pitcher to keep the coral wet.
I have done it twice. Once for my African Flame back who resides in the big boy FOWLR tank now and once for a Bi-Colored Blenny who didn't fair so well in the FOWLR tank. I think the Mantis Shrimp got him. . They were both coral nippers. Not at first but eventually got a taste for the corals and became constant nippers.
I just put a big blob of Gorilla gel on the bare spot and put a few pellets in it.I'm just impressed that no one's suggested putting in an elephant ear/cup coral colony for revenge. Dun dun dun!
Ha ha....great topic. I remove said coral and trade it back in at the LFS. Also never buy that kind again. I have 4 angels and they (especially the Passer) destroyed Elegance, Acans, any fleshy brains, and certain kinds of chalices......so I buy only what he doesn't touch. I had him several years.Let's say you tried a reef safe "with caution" fish like a dwarf angel or something similar only to catch it nipping at your LPS and/or SPS. What would you do? I had a flame angel nipping coral but not eating the coral more or less just nipping. I lost no corals kept the fish. It died getting stuck in a rock eventually.Let's say you tried a reef safe "with caution" fish like a dwarf angel or something similar only to catch it nipping at your LPS and/or SPS. Earlier this year I noticed that a couple of my hammer corals we’re looking sickly and on the brink of death. Everything else looked fine, parameters were ok, so I was stumped. Then the mystery was revealed… I caught one of my yellow tangs in the act of ripping tentacles off a hammer!!!!! These bad tangs get fed three times a day so I know this little turd wasn’t hungry. I don’t know why he targeted those poor hammers. My solution was to remove the hammers - the tangs definitely run the show around here hahaha!Let's say you tried a reef safe "with caution" fish like a dwarf angel or something similar only to catch it nipping at your LPS and/or SPS. That is why one tank is never enough. I have a scoly that my purple tang can never resist. Only one coral, tried three times over five years…Let's say you tried a reef safe "with caution" fish like a dwarf angel or something similar only to catch it nipping at your LPS and/or SPS. Its the opposite for me. I care more about the corals than the fish, so it would be gone. Most of my tanks have only had a few small fish, and sone were fishless.Just stop keeping whatever coral it is eating. Plenty of other corals to choose from. They are pretty filler/habitat for fish.
