Honestly my favourite fish in my 4’x2’x2’ tank for less than $50 was this boy :)
Halichoeres iridis generally come in juveniles and aren’t much more than £45 over here.

I would say if you have a fowlr, my pearlscale butterfly is an awesome fish. Not so much for a reef as he has been with me for like 5 months and has eaten like $600 of coral. But the fish was only like $45 lol.

I want to say my flame hawkfish was around $50.. he's a great fish

Beautiful fish. I’ve recently gotten a Melanurus and I have a Yellow Halichoeres and Black Backed coming in. The first two were $45 and $35, the last somewhat more than 50.

getting fish from hobbyist always the cheapest. i recently got the yellow tang for 150 and blue tang for 50.

I can’t find a one spot for under $100 here
There is a little family owned pet store near me that occasionally get in saltwater fish and they have them for $50 when they get them. I also think that my favorite reef shop that is not local to me gets them for around $50.

Honestly seems like there’s tons of nice fish under 50 when you make me think about it…
