I like Nassarius snails...looks like no one's around, drop food....they pop right out of the sand. And when it comes to breeding...they're out there in front of everyone....they have no shame..
they’re my fav too. i call them pe*is snails

Strombus Grazer's (Strombus maculatus) - not an option on the poll list but they will breed and do a great job with the smaller algae and cyanobacteria.

While the trochus come in a close 2nd as a workhorse. Nassarius are by far the coolest to watch dragging around the sand

Banded trochus and stomatellas. Both I like because they move quickly and spawn within my system. The bulk of my stomatella population is in my frag tank and work great at cleaning without knocking over plugs or sandbed corals.
I have vever had a stomatella but there is a real cool video of one on the link below. It shows it righting itself. Really cool if they are all like that.

I don’t really like Nassarius, they only seem to go for uneaten food, which everyone else already goes for, so that’s not super helpful. If you get enough of them they can mix up the sand for you, but so can many other things, so again, not super helpful for me.

My top snail (or snail-like) cuc is by far the tiger/fighting conch. The #1 workhorse in my tanks, those little vacuums seem to take out anything (algaes/cyanos/whatever) they can reach all day everyday. They constantly move and dig into the sand for you and their size makes them a noticeable tank mate that you can follow and keep track of easier, like a fish/coral, rather than just being another one of many random snails. They even climb glass and rocks sometimes, which can be pretty cool (and funny) to watch, but they’ll primarily just keep your sandbed/BB and connected aquascape pristine.

I'm a new and just got snails last week; some Nassarius and Astrea's. I never knew snails were so fascinating! I've gotten up in the middle of the night to check out the Nass's and the Astrea's...how in the world do they climb so well! Together, they keep the tank so clean. Not sure what I would do w/o them. I'll be exploring others are they are all awesome creatures.

Trochus snails for me....

When they happen to get on the glass I will stop what I'm doing and sit in front of the tank and watch their little mouth go to town. Kind of reminds me of that Dow bathroom cleaner commercial with the Scrubbing Bubbles when they are first put into a tank you can see where they have been because they leave a path of clean.
