Have had this Blazing saddles Yuma from WWC four maybe 5 months. Initially it did great and a few little ones showed up within 6 weeks. Then it migrated off its original mount and has slowly been digressing. One of the babies on the mount got moved and is doing alright, but not really growing. This one is not getting direct light, at the bottom 1/3rd of the tank and 2 feet away from an mp-40 with indirect flow. Any idea what I can do to save it? How do you get it off the rock work? I tried an anemone canon with a sponge and pvc and couldn’t get results for the anemone. This Yuma is in a tough spot to set one up. Any thoughts?

Some of my experiences with Yumas are if they are smaller, gentle light at first. There have been a couple I got like these pink ones that are pretty high up from day one and have done well. I’ll start looking for the chemistry part. I got an ICP test I can probably do next Monday and send it off to Triton.

I hope all works out good for your mushroom. Although I would love to be able to help, I'm 5months into the aquarium world and have much to learn. I'm sorry to bother you with a question when you to are seeking answers but here goes- is the Ricordea difficult to raise?

In my opinion no, I have at least 10 different ones. There is the Florida which many say is an easier Ricordea than Yuma to be successful with. My first tank, years back, I had an orangish pink Ricordea. It did awesome, but I think I nailed the placement for light and flow, with pretty good water chemistry, meaning stability, and not a lot of variance as the tank matured. I had a non photosynthetic sun coral at that time, so phytoplankton and reef roids were used almost daily. But use caution to feeding to my daily method of feedings for that tank I ran. After 2 years, I had at least six of those Ricordea from polyps budding off that just kept finding a happy spot.

Spectacular!! Thank you so much for your time and for a great useful answer. We, my wife Brittany and I are preparing an order for about two weeks and we have each chosen a ricordea. I have a "Ring of fire" rhodactis and he is thriving in our system. He opens all day and when the lights go out he closes up like a little onion. Again, Thank you for your help and time. We will be hoping for your mushroom situation resolves itself in a positive manner.

Appreciate it! Some Ricordea can be very light sensitive, generally keep them on the lower 1/3 of your tank from lighting, and over time try new placements.
Superb!! Thank you!! This is so exciting!!!
