Zoa’s?

Are the corals on the right with the red on the outside zoa’s or palys, they look like they are going to overtake the other zoa’s is this possible?

I believe they're palys, but I don't think they're going to overtake the other 2 zoa colonies, no. They may encroach a bit further, but that's probably about it.

Some zoas can over take others. If ones faster growing it will out grow the others.

I think they are zoanthids. Palythoas are generally not that colorful and incorporate substrate into their skin. A lot of large of spiky tentacled zoanthids are misidentified as palythoas.

From what I know, there are only 2 strains of colorful palythoa: the green ones and the purple ones. Most of the other colorful palythoa are actually large polyped zoanthids.

Talking under normal lighting. In low light , of course their going to STRETCH towards light
