Zoa Collection

Thank you! I almost lost this colony. I was down to about 5-6. Asterina ate the colony fast and I never suspected them. I regrew this in less than a year

The torch is a banana holy grail. Grew it from single head

both amazing colonies! if you ever need to frag the torch, I would gladly take one of your hands! I’m sure I can find a spot somewhere :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

It’s taking it’s sweet time to split! The first 12-14 months it didn’t split! It pinched all over but basically was one massive head

Even now at 16 months it still doesn’t have any individual heads but it’s getting close to forming 7-8

Torches are so weird! like anemones on sticks lol. kinda cool though to have one giant one like that! i have that Malaysian HG from CoralKai on the way. maybe by the time that grows out, you’ll be ready for a trade! :star-struck:

I’m down. Dm me pics so I have something to look forward to haha

If anemones came on sticks I’d take one! I can’t have no anemone going through my tank like a bull in a china shop!

sent!

same here, i love nems! i have two standard WWC rainbows in my macro tank, and two nexus nems in my display. one is the cool half red and half blue, the other is all blue. both have stayed where i put them day one (minus a 1” adjustment space to find a good foot holding). i one one right in the middle of my acro garden. i’ve been thinking of adding a higher shelf for the acros to give them enough space to grow because the torches are trying to high-five them and i don’t fully trust the nem yet :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

As much as I think Zoas look awesome. They do become a pest after a while. I can't wait to ditch my Sakura sunrise Zoas and go for a SPS dominant tank on the new build. Maybe some other species are slower growers but these ones take over and become a pain in the rear after a while lol

Shading and space Issues non stop once all my acros started taking off

I went LPS with this tank and like big polyps and slow growers

yeah some grow like pests but a lot of the high end ones grow sloooooow and if you plan it out rot it, your other corals can keep them from growing out too much :winking-face: zoas don’t like being touched by torches

This is stunning! Such wonderful contrast in color and texture. This is what I want.
