Nice shot! I think those 105mm shots tend to need focus stacked images to capture the entire polyp in focus. Beautiful nonetheless! :)

Josua, you are quite obviously a pro with the Zoas and with your cameras. I am certain that others are inspired as I am. I feel like I watched a video you made a long time ago about fragging Zoas. If I recall it was cutting from plugs. I notice that you have some large colonies growing on rock work. Do you have any advice for getting Zoas off of base rock for sharing? Most of my larger colonies are on my base rock, which translates to large, heavy rock that is difficult to get out of the water. Every try cutting in the tank? I can't believe how gorgeous your collection is and how every single polyp looks perfect and healthy. Great job!

Thanks for your kind words. To frag inside tank is a pain. I usually try to keep all my colonies elevated from the rocks but the ones that grow on the base rock i use big coral cutter and nip the rock. These cutters from aqua vitro are amazing to cut rocks.

I try to keep Parameters stable. Cal 420-450 alk 8-9 mag 1350-1450 . I just broadcast feed and fish and corals catch their food.

I have always thought that mag needs to stay with in 50 to be considered as stable. Have you found better coloration and growth when you dial it in a little closer? How about your PO4 and NO3 levels?

Actually i just dump a bunch of mag to bring it to 1500 and then don't add mag for like a month at a time. The most important parameter is alk. I dose cal and alk and don't worry too much about mag. I've been doing it like that always. Every tank is different just keep everything as stable as you can and the corals get used to it. I don't test po4 or no4 lol too lazy

I try to do at least 10% every 2 weeks. I add extra mag to the water to make sure it doesn't drop it too much
