Sorry I'm far from a plumbing guru and I do like the idea of not having any plumbing handing behind the tank. I'm just a fan of multiple main drains. Lets see if anyone else has ideas #DIYwizards
Moved this thread to DIY so our #DIYwizards can help out. Interesting idea! I agree that insulation of some kind would be needed. Based on the size tank you're planning to go with, I'm thinking 3/8" panes would be the smallest I'd try due to the pressure/weight of 60-90 gallons of water in each...

Painted bottom and back, flat black.
Painted inside, bright white.
Once dry it'll get rolled back up and the front, top, and sides will be painted.
The white box is the platform for one of the (2) 40 gallon breeders for the filtration.

bumping this up for some of our #DIYwizards for the lighting questions. On the skimmer, I honestly probably wouldn't use a skimmer on a tank that small. I'd rely more on filter media.
Did you do a leak test? I would JB weld it as my first step to getting the integrity back to that corner of the tank. How big is the tank?
