Hello All,
Could you please be able to tell me what kind of coral this is. There is a local reefer selling it and said it may be a reverse Godzilla bounce or King Kong bounce Yuma. Before I spend the money, I want to verify it’s a bounce mushroom. See photo below. Thanks!
Can someone help me ID this leather coral? It was sold at the LFS as an "assorted leather."
I know there is such thing as a spaghetti leather / finger leather but this doesn't look like those based off the pictures I've seen (although it sounds like a good name for this). The pics of those...
Hey everyone I’m new to this forum and this is my first post so I apologize if there’s a different thread I should be posting on. I was just trying to inquire on what kind of zoa I currently have, I know every other zoa I have but not this one. I was hoping someone could maybe identify what kind...
I got these guys all 50% off from my LFS and have a vague idea of the types but wanted to get confirmation from more experienced people!
Also, for those who ID them, could I get some advice on placement/care?
My ID’s:
Front (green, metallic/stripy):
green leptoseris
Left (red with lavender...
I keep finding these little ball like pieces. They are the same color as my finger leather on the opposite side of the aquarium. Not sure what they are I have a mixed reef mostly LPS acans
Hello all!
I got this combo rock from my LFS for $50! I know the Kenya Tree and the eagle Eye Zoa, but I do not know the other two (newbie reefer).
I was excited to get this piece. I had been wanting to add some live rock from an established tank because I started with dry rock. It felt like...
I need a coral ID on this LPS. it has small tentacles and it’s almost translucent with a green tinge. I just got it for free and it isn’t in the best shape but I’m hoping to save it. Pics are under white light. The heads are roughly nickel size and under.
Hi again all, I got this tank from a friend a few months ago. When I got it a few of the corals had actually died completely bleached out because he let the algae problem get so bad. Seems as though now it's ben reduced and it's thriving I can't believe how big some of the coral are getting even...
I just bought this beautiful coral. It is a bright pink LPS with orange tentacles when the polyps open. The worker at the shop said it was called "Sand Polyps", but I've never heard of that and couldn't find any information about it online. Does anyone know more about this coral, maybe a better...
Hello I got this coral from Petco a few weeks ago for 25 bucks. I’m not exactly sure what it is but I’m thinking it’s a Green Chalice. However the pictures I’ve seen of Chalices don’t have ridges like mine.
I recently got a chalice and two monti caps that don’t resemble this either. Let me know...
Hello everyone , I have this monti sitting at around 200-250 par and when I first got it it was one color , now it’s starting to get these dark blue streaks in it and I can also see a pink rim in person
Does anyone know which monti this is ? Got it at RAP but forgot to ask the name (it was an...
I was given this chalice about 2-3 years ago for my birthday and forgot the name of it. Hopefully someone can chime in and help me. Really awesome chalice and it’s starting to grow faster and show a lot more color.
Here’s some pics without/with an orange filter.
Thanks!
Can anyone help me ID. Just getting interested in zoas finally after many years. Can’t keep up with the names. Saw this and just thought it was beautiful. Grabbed from LFS listed as “Zoa”
I think I know but I’m trying to learn them and this one has a characteristic or two that gives me pause on...
Hi all,
I'm having trouble IDing this coral with 100% certainty. It was sold to me as an acan, but I've had conflicting opinions come in afterwards from other reefers. I can't find anything online that resembles it, but maybe I'm not looking in the right places. Any help is appreciated.
One of the corals that came with my tank was told to me to be a holywood stunner chalice, I am now almost positive that it is not one. I've attached pictures of it under mostly white and mostly blue light. The polyps do not extend, or at least in the past few months have not extended, further...
