    Help ID shark

Hello! I was about to bring home a baby bamboo shark my LFS ordered for me. I’ve worked with them many times before, and so this baby looked a little odd to me. They say it’s a brown banded bamboo shark… but at this size (like 7 inches) they’re usually much darker striped. Also the head seems...

    What are these white tentacles?

I recently purchased a nice purple nephthea coral and just now noticed these white tentacles that have grown from the rock since I got it. I don’t remember seeing them when I put it in the tank so I’m pretty sure they’ve grown over the past month. Very curious as to what these are/ this is?

    What are these bugs?

I can see them with my eye, but they're tiny. There's thousands of them in my HOB skimmer, and they've done a very good job of cleaning it up for me overnight. They move pretty fast. They took care of my diatom problem in a few days. I am guessing copepods? Thank you!

Build Thread My first time tank- waterbox peninsula 25

Howdy Y’all, I have for a long time been highly interested in starting a reef tank. As luck would have it while on a work trip to Barbados I entered a raffle and won the 2nd place prize which was a Waterbox 25 peninsula with a bunch of other goodies. Skip to month 3 and it has been going well so...

    Mystery Torch Identification

Its been a while since I last posted and recently picked up a new coral, my LFS had a 39$ frag rack and I saw this beautiful three head torch. It was a great bargain especially for three heads so I had to get it, the only caveat was that the vendor had this in stock for such a while they forgot...

    Coral identification

Hi all, I'm having trouble IDing this coral with 100% certainty. It was sold to me as an acan, but I've had conflicting opinions come in afterwards from other reefers. I can't find anything online that resembles it, but maybe I'm not looking in the right places. Any help is appreciated.

At work today we had a crab come in that nobody can identify. We got it in a batch of emerald crabs, and it was labeled as a black emerald crab despite it not being one. Any ideas what it could be?

Is this a sponge, fungus or other in my sump?

This is the sump of my tank, it' about 8 months old. I put a little bit of rock from previous nano tank in here to bring pods in, etc. I was doing maintenance and noticed this stuff on the rock in the sump (it's behind my skimmer so I don't look back there much). I -think- it's a sponge? But...

Please help identify this nuisance algae! Rapidly taking over my tank

Went away for a week and came home to this completely taking over my sump. Protein skimmer working very hard. Used up half my reef mat in 3 days. It feels very slimy and comes apart quite easily. What is this centipede-like bug? Are they harmful to fish?

Hello, I recently started noticing 2 small white centipede like “bugs” on the glass of my tank. They have antennaes, many “feet” like a centipede, move slowly, and are completely white. The bugs are very small but still bigger than pods. My tank has been fallow for 8 weeks now following a...
