Anyone know what this is? Doesn't look like aiptasia or majano or any pest anemone I've seen. Almost looks like a baby euphyllia, but I'm not sure. Has the slightest green fluorescence under blue light.
Hey everyone, saw this land on the sand, I have some rock flower babies so thought it was that grabbed it out and put it in a cup. Couple days later opened up not so much. Is it a Majano? Something different? It’s a nice red lol. I did a google/ forum search missed anything that looked to...
This came on a zoa rock, zoas arent open atm so its hard to compare. I suspect its some sort of anemone, might be a majano but there are so many types of majanos. Wondering what it might be.
Hello!
Rescued a sizeable pectinia that had a couple pests on it. It had a large vermitid that I glued over, a majano which I injected with lemon juice and covered with CA glue.
There is a red sponge which I hope lives!
BUT...What's in the picture? It looks completely different from the other...
I’ve made an aiptasia wand.
I used it a few weeks ago and it worked well. But I’m not sure if when you cook them into a jelly blob whether it pollutes the water?
The first time I used it for a few weeks after my corals were retracted, but I did a water change just after cooking them and had a...
This is her now
The day I got her
6-7 “ Raccoon Butterfly Fish
I enlisted her to help me get rid of my majano anemone infestation. I’ve had her for 7 weeks and my 600+ majano problem is pretty much totally gone.
I have never had this fish in my main display, so I am not sure how it would be...
This is literally just to sate my curiosity because I like asking questions - I don't have aiptasia nor majano in my tank so I don't need help eradicating it. Anyway, I have a few pest 'nem questions! I know I could just google these, but I would rather ask people who are actually passionate...

Good afternoon all !
I added a Coraline encrusted clam shell to my tank when I started it at the beginning of the year. Over the past few months, some feather dusters and sponges appeared - along with these colorful guys most recently (see pics). At first though I may have been lucky and got...
Hey everyone! I started a pico tank that's going to be primarily zoas, photosynthetic sponges, and Majano anemones. The kind I'm looking for are bright green with pink tips. I've seen them called graceful or tulip anemones as well. I was able to get my hands on a cool green(included a picture)...
I’m not entirely sure if this is a Majano or a bubble tip? I have rainbow bubble tips in my tank, but this guy was on a frag from the fish store. I don’t care either way the frag tank is for that sort of thing in our house, just curious.
I know I have LR with majano on them and I wanted the shape and other hitchhikers...
would it be safe in the refugium if my return pump has foam padding?
After a lot of reading on how to control /eliminate my majano problem.... I found an old Eric Borneman recipe for making up your own DIY juice to apply to these pests:
Mix well:
* 100ml of RODI water
* 1 teaspoon of 100% Sodium Hydroxide
* 2 teaspoons of Kalkwasser (Calcium Hydroxide)
-Turn...
Just got a rock of yumas and was told there are some Majano anemones on the rock. They are tiny and fluorescent green, looks like a mini mushroom. Are they good or bad?
Hello friends!
I have a couple of pest anemones in my 60 gal. One is a majano, and one aptaisia. I can only see the two. Just little guys. I've had them here and there and I usually just kill them as they pop up. Hasn't been a big problem so far. However I'm going to be adding a peppermint...
