Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I understand that Joel, the problem is that my English doesn't let me explain myself well hahaha, between chamber 2 and 3 there is a connection below but between the drain compartment and chamber 1 water passes underneath when I think it shouldn't, I think the problem is the silicone
To me also looks like you may have a silicone leak. Can you run your finger along the bottom and feel if there are any gaps?

That chamber could be resealed but it's fine to have some bypass.

Cool Cool Cool your English is fine.
No problem with a little bypass there Luis like Tim said it won't hurt anything I wouldn't worry about it.
But won't that create a problem in the future since that water doesn't go through the filter? And if it's a gap, will it get bigger? I'm speaking from ignorance here since I have no experience in this, I tend to over-worry a little about everything hahaha

I have one more job left to do and then I'm going home. When I get there I'll check.

As long as some/most goes through the sock you're fine. Frank overflows most of the time because he doesn't change his socks. I tend to have dirty filter floss some mine bypasses the floss almost entirely most of the time.

How much large particulates do you have in your system? That'll determine if the socks are truly even necessary.

Ok, time to go sign up for FMLA for my wife's leg.. I'm only a week late.

so do you have to do something on facebook to win the prize on the black and white photo contest? if so im out. dont have facebook...
To win the Porthole, yes. But not to win the POTM badge.

Let me see if I can explain this well hahaha
I think I have a small problem in the sump, when the water falls from the tank towards the drain compartment, I think the water level needs to rise enough so that it passes into chamber 1 exclusively through the filter socks, what happens is that a little bit of water is passing through below, I don't think it's normal, but could it be?

looks like a silicone leak to me,it will probably be inconsequential though, as most of the water will still pass through your socks.

well pooh. ok
Just a thought...

I have Facebook ONLY for entering contests and giveaways. You could always create an unused account and "like" "follow" etc for the extra giveaway entries.

Or you could not and not worry about having a Facebook account. :slightly-smiling-face:

well pooh. ok
i also do not use social media such as facebook at all, the only exception is really this forum. However, did create a facebook account to use marketplace only but turned off everything i could, used a temporary email address and have 0 friends on it. Uninstall it from my phone when not using it and actually have to turn on my VPN to use it as my home network runs adguard home or pi-hole and blocks all media (facebook, tiktok, among many others) and ads from all devices.

Excellent!!
It's like having a dog!
Hand feed, give them lots of personal attention.
Beautiful fish!
They say they can see in 3D, just like us.
It's a trip.
Mine is named Moe.
My Blue throat is called scooby blue and he is a ham.

I don't use the filter socks or anything Luis.
Sometimes I put a pad where the water comes in but it just flows right over anyways.
I used to have an open sump, 29 gallon tub with no dividers/baffles at all so it shouldn't matter if the silicone is leaking.
After a while it'll get clogged with crap anyhow.

Yeah I don't do filter socks either. There's no issue there!

Worrying a little bit too much over things is good... as long as you don't worry too much like me lol
