Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Yea its good. Better than anything we have in maine around me for sure and awesome service. I like the fact that there's somewhere near me I can go to that's genuinely about corals. That said it isn't anything the size of WWC or Tidal Gardens. But a small brick and mortar is preferable sometimes, ecspecially when it comes to service after the sale. The fact that I had a frag cut for me to pick up in awhile after it heals was pretty cool
That's awesome. So it's an actual store with hours? For some reason I thought it was mainly online but you could schedule a time to be there. So how much time did you spend at Orono Brewing? before you got there celebrating what you were going to buy then afterwards for why did I spend so much?

I've driven by a few around here on the way somewhere. hours by appointment only on the outside. Where, I can't really remember. I think one was on the way to Story Land. Along the lines of middle of nowhere and totally random so never think to go back or obviously remember where until I pass it again on the way to somewhere I don't go to often.

Enjoying peace and quite while hubby isn't home... please don't take that the wrong way lol I love my husband more than anything but he always has to have the TV on and it's always so loud because he can't hear great after all his years in construction.

So gorgeous Amanda. This is so much fun watching you stock up! What lights are you running?

so did we name him Oscar The Favia?
I think I asked before and if you replied I don't think I saw it. How was Cultivated Reef? Was there a real lot of stuff?
Haha you see it too! I didn't buy anything from them yet, but they have some incredible looking corals, and they're having a sale right now!

I bought my 2 orange storms from them like 2 years ago. they did great shipping.

So my Pink Zippers are starting to open up again. They had GHA on them and about a week ago I aggressively toothbrushes them. there were about 20 heads. This has been the most open they've been since. Was going to leave them till they open up again then transfer to the 112.

Whenever my zoas had gha I dipped them in 2/3 tank water and 1/3 3% hydrogen peroxide for 7 minutes and problem solved.

I would be so afraid I would kill them...

Na, they didn’t even get ticked off. I did it many times in the first year.
Wish I had known about this trick before I lost so many to gha. I really need to learn to ask for help more often when I need it...

So the GHA will just fall off? No scrubbing or pulling?

I did this today! Not with zoas but instead a stylophora and leptoseris. Well, I actually scrubbed them with hydrogen peroxide, but same thing.

I did do a dip on my acan though, because it's not Doing well, the flesh is rotting.

Its not really an actual store. It is by appointment only and they do like 99% of their business online so when I show up they hook me up. Instead of 1-2 polyps I get like 8 for the same price. I bought that blueberry favia for the same price as online but got 8 polyps. Most all my frags from them have had quite a few polyps

Jennifer picked one up at TSA that was red and green and was absolutely gorgeous. I got mine from my lfs but if I would have known that those were out there I would have shopped around!
I picked up a plain red one but it's got green coming in now.
