Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Did you read the part about mixing micrbactor 7 to fight cyano? Im not keen on using chemiclean, so might try this
I am doing it since several months (maybe 8). When I had the cyano outbreak on my tank, it was not reducing it.

Well dang haha I was hoping it would work amazing :grinning-face-with-sweat:

It is on my tank only, I don't have the same parameters and maybe the cause is different. Never had before and after using chemiclean it is nearly inexistant. I agree with Tim for clearing water.

I was going to get some egg rolls but they are closed on Mondays. so disappointing.
I was going to go to my favorite sandwich place but they no longer open for lunch so I can relate to that disappointment...

afterwards I said, I still want egg rolls so drove to another one and they closed down. :angry-face: hard to find the nice thick crispy ones. most have the thin wrapper.

Should I try chemiclean? :thinking-face: my cyano is so bad it accumulates on filter socks with 1200gph split between the three... it's growing on powerheads...

chemi clean definitely works but will come back if you don’t address the reason why it’s showing up.

I have never used it but would be curious to know if it helps you.

I'd wait it out rather than chem bomb it. the tank is just new. I had it in my 32 I started with caribsea and sand. the 112 never had cyano but did get diatoms. that was started with live ocean rock but caribsea sand still. a while back someone said to try and use a siphon and just spine the water right into your sump through filter socks. then swap the socks when it gets full. just use clamps to hold the sock and hose in place on the sump since you need to see what you are sucking up in the tank.

I've been doing that, unfortunately it

Comes right back and ny sand beds super clean as far as detritis. I know my nutrient levels aren't super high, or at least 4 or 5 days ago they weren't. Just irritating that it's coming back with such a vengeance and I'm constantly cleaning it off everything. My first tank 8 years ago was live everything and never had a bit of cyano ever :face-with-rolling-eyes: stupid BRS insisting I use dry everything while I was building my tank lol

they also dosed bacteria into every start up tank. you don't need to do that when starting with live ocean rock. I don't think it hurts but it is not needed. that's why you buy the live ocean stuff.
