@tharbin everything ready for tomorrow?
Getting there.
Yesterday turned into a marathon run in the morning that actually pretty much freed up today to take care of lose ends, rest and prepare myself mentally.
Yesterday I got up and dressed then checked online headlines to make sure we weren't at war or anything else I needed to worry about. Then I checked my mail for any problems while my wife started breakfast. I saw I had a text message so I clicked on it. It was a photo of the equipment rack for the parish office. There were no lights on anything. Remembering that I'm waiting for a replacement router because I didn't want to risk losing everything by doing a reboot of the existing one I let out a quick 'UH-OH'.
Next I checked for messages. I had one from the business manager at the parish, the cameras, alarms, doors and internet were all down. After a few quick conversations with frantic callers and my wife I was out the door. No coffee no breakfast.
The local power company had a 45 minute outage around 5 in the morning. The UPS in the office decided to not come back on when the power restored so the rack was down. It didn't take long to get a new UPS in, and a second one to move all of the third-party alarm and door gear off of that UPS onto a separate one and get the doors, alarms, and cameras back on. Eventually the router came up enough to restore internet but the reboot caused it to lose console connection entirely. Just what I had feared.
Anyway long story a little shorter the new router showed up around 10am instead of the scheduled 1-2pm and after a lot of head scratching and pondering and more than a few prayers intermixed with semi-curses I was able to get the configs into the new router and all was fine. Since I was there I took care of the other two systems that I didn't think I would be able to get to and all was well. Someone even made me a coffee around 11.
Got home around 1:30 and had breakfast. Then went to R2R to clear my head but basically vegged the rest of the day except for two short stints to migrate a user and take care of a couple of updates. Only thing left to do is to send the accountant the link for a 48-port switch to replace one of the 16-ports.
I was able to sleep like a baby with no lingering, just have to get this done points left for the parish or home.
But - I noticed three heads on the green hammer that are near where the two Indo torches were originally are not opening fully. The two Indos appear to be improving slightly since I moved them so I may move the hammer. The Foxface has taken to 'hiding' under the ledge of the large Aqua-Rock near the return. Right where the hammer is.
Thanks for asking.
