Your kids would love it! Took my kids many times when they were young. Heck, when I was in grade school my parents took me, my brother and sister when we were driving from Connecticut to Michigan to visit family. I know you and your family have never seen a large body of water where you can’t see land on the other side, it is literally on Lake Erie. A friend of ours took his family and me and my family in his 67’ Sea Ray, pulled up to the docks and made a day of it. World class Walleye, yellow fin perch and small mouth bass fishing. I don’t think you could catch any of those in the Gulf of America. Temp in the summer is much milder also!
CP is on Sandusky Bay. I think the best Yellow Fin Perch fishing in the country is, or at least was, in Sandusky Bay. We would go out early and by lunch time have a dozen 5 gallon buckets stuffed to overflowing with Yellow Fin.

Shot this earlier for a thread on nassarius snails breeding. I literally had hundreds in my previous tank. Like the adults they come out of the sand when food is introduced.

I have noticed tiny ones in my tank as well in the past that were smaller than the ones I added so I figured they were baby snails lol

Did you say, "Koi pond?" I sure hope you take lots of pics/vids during it's construction and post them in "Ooops".

Hint hint, Rock and I will meet you there!

Why not Take Him There?

My Saturday involves washing both of my cars, then going and fixing my father-in-law's pump for his aquaponics, then heading to a frag swap!
Hope you swap for some good items!

I had to Google it, but what an awesome place! You had me at meeting you and Rock there. But Rollercoaster capital of the world doesn't sound bad either
I was there when I was a yung lad. Had a blast. We had Six Flags that was about a touch over an hour outside of Chicago.

when I was young.

My oldest son is biting at the bit to get it started. He wanted to get it started last summer but I was still suffering from a financial hangover from my daughters wedding in May.

Great music choices Chris. Julie London was a decent actress as well.

We had a pond made from an old bathtub in the backyard when I was a kid. It always amazed me when in the spring and the ice on the pond thawed the fish were still there. Hardy buggers.

I've thought about putting a pond in our yard here but two problems. It would attract snakes but the bigger issue is we could only stock it with fried fish.

Well, a shovel doesn't cost much. And neither does a wheelbarrow. Plus, I am fairly sure you already own a shovel. So, map out the location with spray paint, hand him the shovel and tell him to get busy. Then go make yourself a tall, cold glass of lemonade and supervise. Or, maybe even one of those green bottled beverages.

Tell me about yellow angel fish please...I read reef safe with caution but I'm not really sure if they lean more towards the safe side or not safe side. Stopped by the LFS and they also had on beautiful mandarin goby but it is on hold for the customer that ordered it. They had several green chromis and a really pretty yellow and purple fish that I think was a type of dottyback that I have read is mean and a Lawnmower Blenny.

I think these are known as lemon peel angel, I've never owned one because they have a reputation like almost all angels for coral. The most "reef safe with caution" angels are going to be the dwarf flame Angel and the coral Beauty

That’s about the way it will go! When he was 20 yo I had been sick and in and out of the hospital all the time. The house we bought the previous owner built a sunroom built over the previous one so there wasn’t a back porch. My last stay in the hospital was over two months and after conferring with his mother they thought it would be nice to have a patio for me to sit on while I was recovering. You’ve seen in pictures I’ve posted. All by by himself he dug out a large patio, 6” below the permafrost and added, I forget how many tons of crushed limestone and 2 inches of sand for leveling. Ordered a cut what needed to be and laid the patio squares. Pictures patio squares so you understand. Ignore the animals.
